You are His Poem

For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them. (Ephesians 2:10)

In this verse we are described as “His workmanship.” The Greek word for workmanship is the direct linguistic origin of the words “poem” and “poetry.“

Think about that. We all know that God created each and every one of us, but it’s deeper and much more personal than that. Each of us was created as a piece of art for His glory. We we are His poem, valuable , and His own special piece of art.

This is echoed in Romans 1:20: “For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead, so that they are without excuse,”

Paul is referring to the physical creation of the universe using the same root Greek word used in Ephesian 2:10 describing the universe as displaying his eternal power and divine nature are clearly seen.

So, today go forth knowing you are His special creation, created in Christ Jesus for good works. He loves you like the unique creation that you were made to be.
