“We are therefore Christ’s ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us. We implore you on Christ’s behalf: Be reconciled to God” (2 Corinthians 5:20)
The world today has no shortage of topics that divide us, and navigating conversations with friends, family, co-workers or neighbors can be tricky.
It is in those moments that it is easy to be passionate about this view or that view and forget about the eternal view.
- Is the issue you are discussing important eternally?
- Does our position come from a biblical worldview?
We often forget who we represent, and the world will be quick to remind us that what we say doesn’t match up with what we profess.
We need to remember that our stance on issues and HOW we take that stance reflect on Christ.
We should not be willing to sacrifice relationships to win an argument. We never sacrifice our commitment to Christ or compromise on biblical beliefs but we also don’t need to pound others into submission with our beliefs but our words and actions should point people TO Christ, not away from Him.
“No foul language should come from your mouth, but only what is good for building up someone in need, so that it gives grace to those who hear.” (Ephesians 4:29)
