Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus, who, being in the form of God, did not consider it robbery to be equal with God, but made Himself of no reputation, taking the form of a bondservant, and coming in the likeness of men. And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient to the point of death, even the death of the cross. Therefore God also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the arth, and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. (Philippians 2:5-11)
We must have a heart for the purposes of God in the earth.
That’s why we’re here.
We’re not here so God will take up our causes. We’re not here so God will just bless us with the things that are on our to-do lists.
We’re here to give our lives to His to-do list.
God has begun to shake us, awaken us, and stir our hearts. Jesus is our Lord. He is our model. He didn’t come to demand privilege, or position, or power. He came and poured His life out. In fact, in Philippians 2, it says He didn’t consider equality with God something to be grasped, but He made himself of no reputation and, “humbled himself by becoming obedient to death—even death on a cross!”
Our attitudes should be the same as that of Christ Jesus. Our assignment is to be obedient.
