To every thing there is a season, and a time for every purpose under the heavens: a time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pull up what is planted. (Ecc3:1-2)
God’s creation is ordered not just according to day and night, nust also by the different seasons. In the same way, your life also have different times and seasons.
Winter:
“Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us also lay aside every weight, and sin which clings so closely, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking to Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is seated at the right hand of the throne of God.” (Heb 12:1-2)
There will be seasons of winter – where you can’t figure it out, when everything seems to go wrong, where you feel discouraged. It could be spiritually, financially, emotionally or personal. Learn to handle the winters, rest and focus on Jesus and grow stronger and wiser.
Spring:
“Behold, I am doing a new thing; now it springs forth, do you not perceive it? I will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert.” (Isa 43:19)
However, spring always follows winter – a time of new growth, opportunity, new things . Enter the fields of opportunity of life with seed, knowledge, commitment, renewed hope and faith and determined effort. Do something with your springs; plant the seeds, use your opportunities and don’t let it pass by unused.
Summer:
“Behold, I have given you authority to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall hurt you.” (Luke 10:19)
Next comes summer when you have to nourish and protect your crops against weeds, bugs, lies. You have been given the authority to rule over them and to guard and defend your values. Stand strong in your faith (Eph 6:11) and tend your spiritual, friendship, personal, financial gardens.
Fall:
” Do not be deceived: God is not mocked, for whatever one sows, that will he also reap.” (Gal 6:7)
Then comes fall and it’s time to reap – you will reap what you have sown; take responsibility and enjoy reaping your harvest if you have done well, and without complaint in you have not. Accept full responsibility for your life and actions – a sure sign of maturity.
The seasons and times of life will repeat themselves and are neither for or against you – learn from them, prepare for them and make the most of them!
While the earth remains, seed time and harvest, cold and heat, summer and winter, and day and night shall not cease. Gen 8:22
