Loss

Yet indeed I also count all things loss for the excellence of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord, for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and count them as rubbish, that I may gain Christ and be found in Him, not having my own righteousness, which is from the law, but that which is through faith in Christ, the righteousness which is from God by faith; that I may know Him and the power of His resurrection, and the fellowship of His sufferings, being conformed to His death. (Philippians 3:8-10)

Have you ever thought about all the Bible characters who experienced loss and how their stories changed when they trusted God to intervene on their behalf?

  • JOSEPH was sold into slavery by his own brothers … then, God changed his life completely and made him a powerful leader.
  • RUTH lost her husband and home … then, God provided her with a new husband, and together they would become the great-grandparents of King David.
  • JOB was a wealthy man who lost everything … then, God blessed him with more than he had lost.
  • The DISCIPLES thought they had lost their teacher and friend, their Messiah … then, God raised Him from the dead and sent the Holy Spirit to dwell with them after He went back to Heaven.

Are you in a season of loss? If so, know that God has not forgotten you.

No matter what the outcome, He can take what seems like a hopeless situation and fill you with hope for the future.
