Lift up your eyes on high and see: who created these? (Isaiah 40:26)
I’m color blind – not to all colors, but mostly shades or red and blue. I can’t see all colors as God designed us to be. The left and right pictures I put up with this post may look different to you, but to me they look the same. I see colors and beauty, but there are aspects and shades I don’t.
While you may be able to see and appreciate all the colors in the spectrum, on a spiritual level all of us don’t see things the way God wants us to because of how sin has affected our “sight.”
Isaiah 40:26 says
Lift up your eyes on high and see: who created these?
He who brings out their host by number,
calling them all by name;
by the greatness of his might
and because he is strong in power,
not one is missing.
I long for the day when my body will be made whole and I will be able to see the full beauty of creation. In the same way we should all be aware of our “blindness” and long for the day sin will reign no more. Until then, we must be aware of our shortcomings, and how our spiritual blindness prevents us from seeing fully, asking God to reveal to us today what it is he would have us see.
