All of It

All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work. (2 Timothy 3:16-17)

I’ve rad that sme Christians seem to feel that the New Testament has more authority than the Old Testament, like they think the New Testament is understood to be an amendment, correcting the weaknesses of the earlier work.

I also know there are some Christians who have never really read the Old Testament, which is unfortunate, because the New Testament makes no sense without the context of the Old Testament.

Jesus knew it well and quoted it often. It was the only Scripture He knew, and He understood the power contained within it.

His disciples, and later Paul who wrote much of the New Testament, also knew the Old Testament writings. To them also, the Old Testament was the Scripture that foretold of Christ and the coming age they were in.

If God intended for us to put the Old Testament on the shelf and focus on the New Testament only, He would’ve told us so. In fact, the opposite is true, as Paul reminds Timothy that ALL Scripture is God-breathed and useful.
