The water I give them will become in them a spring of water welling up to eternal life. (John 4:14)
I know many are going through a hard season in life, and in those seasons the blessings of God can seem far away and even impossible. but God is not an absentee landlord. He is always right there
His promise “I will never leave you nor forsake you” (Hebrews 13:5) does not say I will always save you from hard times, but that He will be with you, especially in the hard times because in those moments He may be all we have to hang on to. We live in a world that is constantly changing.
It can feel like people are constantly leaving, whether in a family, relationship, or in death. In these times, God’s promise of never leaving is encouraging.
Sometimes his presences comes through the hands and feet of others around us. That means when we are not in those valleys we must be open to the prompting of the Holy Spirit who wants to use us as His hands and feet to someone else who is going through a valley of life.
Blessings to others isn’t limited to financial. Perhaps you know someone who could use a meal, help cleaning their house, or even someone to just be with them and comfort them. There are uncounted ways to be a blessing to others. There is no formula so be open to what God is showing you on how to be a blessing to others.
Being a blessing isn’t about us getting warm fuzzies for doing something good, although those are nice – but they should come from the Lord commending us, not people.
Anything we do for others should point them to Christ, not to us.
