“Therefore, we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were making an appeal through us; we beg you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God.” (2 Corinthians 5:20)
“”A river reaches places which its source never knows.” This quote by Oswald Chambers is powerful and so true. As I think back over my life there are many people who were such a blessing into my life, and they probably never knew the impact they had, which is as it should be.
We should impact those around us for Christ by the way we live our lives. Yes, there will be people we intentionally have an impact on, but we should leave a trail behind us as we go through life that when it’s discovered it doesn’t lead people to us, but to Christ.
The random encounters with people out in public – Do we treat them differently because we think we won’t likely see them again? You never know what is happening in their lives, and the effect of a few moments with them with a kind word or gesture will have. I’m guilty of sometimes being so busy with my predetermined course of action that I overlook others around me, because I’m so focused on getting done what I’m out for. I’ll blow right by an opportunity to talk with a stranger when I really just want to move on. Who knows what those seemingly random conversations will lead to!
Who will God place in your path today?
