Obedience

Anyone who chooses to do the will of God will find out . . . (John 7:17)

Our current generation has reduced learning to knowledge.

In generations past we learned by doing – if you worked in the “trades” or wanted to learn a skill, you would apprentice with someone or work with someone who walked you through HOW to do something, and you would learn through obedience and following instructions.

Somewhere along the line learning turned to an intellectual exercise – college and classes. This kind of learning is excellent for intellectual purposes but in many cases makes us not suited for getting things done.

It’s the same way with discipleship – there is much we can learn by studying the Word – and we should! But there are also rich layers of knowledge out there that we only get exposed to by obedience to Christ.

What is He telling you to do today that needs your obedience?
