Gratitude

Not unto us, O Lord, not unto us,
But to Your name give glory,
Because of Your mercy,
Because of Your truth.
(Psalm 115:1)

How often to we look for things that God has done in and around us and give Him the glory and praise for it? For most of us, not often enough. I know, because I regularly blow past those opportunities as well.

Life gets busy and we fail to notice His blessings that are around us daily. Or we look for the big things to praise Him for, not realizing how present he is in the small details of our life. Again, I’m a serial offender.

So, for this morning I took a few moments to think of the everyday things I’m grateful for, and took time to give thanks and glory to God. The list grew on and on as everything I thought of had some connection to God in my life. We need to live life that way as so much that is in our life is there because of his mercy, grace and provision. Really, at the bottom of it all, everything is either granted or allowed by Him.

Gratitude is an excellent way to start out the day. I chose this morning to be grateful for all I see around me.

We need to live a life of grateful dependence on Him.
