Set a Course

For to set the mind on the flesh is death, but to set the mind on the Spirit is life and peace. (Romans 8:6)

Our minds are more powerful then we realize.

We can change the course of each day by setting our mind right.

Like the captain of a ship we shouldn’t set course for the day by looking at what is immediately before him, but we focus on the horizon and determine our goal and let that steer us through the day. He looks for objects that will distract, deter and attempt to push us off course, but his ultimate destination and the setting of his rudder and where he is set to be at the end of the day remain the same.

Captains consult their maps and charts, and we have the same guide available – His Word which gives us the necessary direction needed.

It’s a daily battle for me to remember to spend some precious moments with Him and the Word before allowing the daily events of life to take over.
