Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword? (Romans 8:35)
If we TRULY believe that NOTHING can separate us from the love of Christ, how should that change our daily life? When I look back at the rear view mirror of my life, I realize there were many times I was not walking through a particular time or event with the understanding that nothing could separate me from His love and I didn’t live those moments as fully as I could have.
It’s funny how we can trust God in the BIG hard times but I can be so apt to lose focus on a small daily event when things aren’t going so well.
We also get discouraged in hard times as many of us believe incorrectly that as a child of God we are to be protected from all harm. That is one of the biggest lies from the enemy, as he seeks to get us to doubt God’s love for us. Once he gets that door opened he can then turn us from a victorious Christian into an ineffective one. If he can’t stop us from being saved then his next attack is to keep us from saving others.
I will strive today and every day to remind myself that His love is steadfast, unerring and will not falter even if I do.
