“But I, brothers, could not address you as spiritual people, but as people of the flesh, as infants in Christ. I fed you with milk, not solid food, for you were not ready for it. And even now you are not yet ready, for you are still of the flesh. For while there is jealousy and strife among you, are you not of the flesh and behaving only in a human way? (1 Corinthians 3:1-3)

Paul was writing to the church in Corinth about their spiritual diet.
The Greek word “gala” Paul used for “milk” means the basic, elemental teachings of Christianity first learned by new believers according to Vine’s Expository Dictionary of the Old and New Testaments. The word “meat” in 1 Corinthians is from the Greek word “Broma” and it means the deeper, more complete teachings of God’s Word.
Chewing meat takes more time (and teeth) than eating milk. Babies aren’t equipped to enjoy a fine steak and need essential food. As we grow we need more and none of us as adults should be living on baby formula or milk!
We should recognize our need for a deeper spiritual diet, and recognize areas in our life where we are still asking for Salvation. We will always fight sin in our lives, but Jesus died for our sins and that atonement has been finished.

He now desires to make us into a people that look more like Him every day.
