“So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.” (2 Corinthians 4:18)
Over the past few months we’ve had times where there were big storms predicted, but then it seems pass by and not hit like they said it would. While there were some pretty good storms in other parts of the state it seemed to miss us, or not hit as hard as predicted.
Life is like that. We wake up, and think of all the storms our mind had predicted are coming. Our mind tells us there is trouble coming, with a capital T, and we go forward as it we’re going to get drenched again with the happenings of life. But how often does what we worry about actually happen? Yes, life can be harsh sometimes, but be honest – much of what we worry about are like weather reports – storms predicted but nothing comes of it.
Better to fix our minds on what is eternal, and what we know of for sure. Confront those negative thoughts, and replace them with healthy positive thoughts. The best ones to use are from the Word. Use God’s words to meditate on in the morning, and then think of them throughout the day to keep your mind clear and filled with God-centered thoughts.
